Review - Caper of the Golden Bulls, The
Pretty clever, but slow-moving. I had a hard time staying interested and kept pausing it to do other things.

| Description: | Peter (Stephen Boyd) and his crew accidentally bombed a French cathedral during WWII. To make up for it, after the war, they robbed several German banks and paid for the rebuilding of the cathedral. On their heists, the teamed up with a young waif named Angela (Giovanna Ralli). Years later, Angela shows up and, with evidence from the earlier robberies, blackmails Peter and his gang into robbing jewels from a bank in Pamplona during the festival. Peter's fiancee Grace (Yvette Mimieux) comes along to help, as does Angela's current boyfriend, Francois. The robbery goes off as planned — the jewels are stollen and handed out the bank window to a costumed performer. Peter gets the evidence of the old robberies, Francois is chased away by some men who sought him for war crimes, and everyone gets safely out of the bank. But Angela, who was supposed to be the performer who got the jewels, never got them. A policeman who knows Peter shows up, and Angela ditches him. It turns out that Peter and Grace worked out a deal so that she would received the jewels and turn them over to the authorities to keep Peter out of trouble. He only has to help pay for the damage to the bank. He and Grace get married. |
