Description:A serial killer is targeting women. Walter Kyne (Vincent Price), spoiled heir of the Kyne new syndicate, offers top position to whichever of his department heads catches the killer. Crack reporter Edward Mobley (Dana Andrews) agress to help his editor, Griffith (Thomas Mitchell). Mobley taunts the killer to make him target his fiancee Nancy (Sally Forrest). There's all sorts of politics and manipulation, but Mobley's scheme works — almost. The killer does try to get Nancy, but when he can't get into her apartment, he breaks into the next one, where Kyne's wife Dorothy (Rhonda Fleming) is having a tryst with another department head. Mobley catches the killer, but the other head breaks the story and gets the top position — until Mobley reveals that he got the story by having an affair Kyne's wife.

Review - While the City Sleeps

A movie about a bunch of media people who are willing to seduce other people's spouses, use their own loved ones as bait, double-cross and manipulate each other just to get a name for themselves. It sure doesn't make me like the media any.
