Description:Mercenary soldier Curry (Rod Taylor) is hired by the president of the Congo to take a train to a remote town to rescue people isolated by the violent uprising in the country. There also happens to be a big supply of diamonds — the real reason Curry is being sent. Ruffo (Jim Brown) goes along as Curry's partner. They hire an army, including Henlein, an ex-Nazi. Along the way, they stop at a plantation to pick up some Frenchmen, but the only survivor of a rebel attack is Claire (Yvette Mimieux). They get to the village and load the train but are attacked on the way out. The engine is destroyed and one carload of people are captured, tortured, raped, and killed. Curry and Ruffo had back into town, grab the diamonds and kill a bunch of rebels while Henlein grabs the rebel's trucks. They head back but soon run out of gas. Curry goes to a distant station and asks for a gas and food drop. While he's away, Henlein kills Ruffo and attacks Claire to get the diamonds, not knowing that Curry has them with him. When Curry finds out, he tracks down Henlein, who is escaping on a raft, and brutally kills him. Claire and a Congo captain both are disgusted by Curry's action. When Curry thinks about it, he gives him self up for court martial.

Review - Dark of the Sun

Not a movie I'd want to watch a second time. Taylor and Brown obviously thought they were cool. Mimieux was just along to look pretty. The story jumped ahead to avoid plot holes that were never explained.
