I'm not sure why, but this movie just dragged for me. Maybe too much talk to be exciting, not enough humor to be funny, and not enough chemistry to be romantic.

| Description: | Madeleine (Marlene Dietrich) works with a team of jewel thieves. She steals an expensive pearl necklace in Paris and heads to the French border. Along the way, she meets American Tom Bradley (Gary Cooper) on a vacation. He's attracted to her, but she just wants to get over the border. At customs, she sneaks the necklace into his coat pocket. Later, thinking the coat is in his trunk, she steals his car. He tracks her down where she's staying with Margoli, her accomplice. They manage to get the necklace, but by then Madeleine has fallen for Tom. She decides to quit the team. Margoli intends to stop her, but she tells Tom everything. He still loves her. He makes Margoli return the necklace, then goes back to Paris with Madeleine to return it and get married. |
