| Description: | Judy (Betty Hutton) is a hat-check girl at the Stork Club. When out swimming she saved Jerry (Barry Fitzgerald) from drowning. She thinks he's a bum, but he's really a millionaire. He anonymously rewards Judy with money, a nice apartment, and credit at a fancy store. When Judy's boyfriend Danny (Don DeFore) gets home from the war, he's suspicious, and when Judy can't give him a good explanation for her sudden wealth, he dumps her. She conspires with Jerry (who reveals who he is, Jerry's wife, and the Stork Club manager to get Danny to see the truth and marry her. Along the way, Betty Hutton sings three or four songs. |
