Description:Letty (Loretta Young), single mother of 7-year-old Mickey, lives by her wits and by seducing men. Mickey is injured when he skates in front of a truck driven by Malcolm Trevor (Cary Grant) wealthy owner of a dairy. Letty sees this as an opportunity to milk Malcolm for money, but when the judge gets wind of her scheme, he takes Mickey away from her. Malcolm and his wife Alyce adopt Mickey, who soon learns to enjoy the wealthy life. Letty wants Mickey back, and when her other schemes don't work, she seduces Malcolm. Instead of the blackmail chance she expects, she finds him willing to leave Alyce for her. And Alyce just wants Malcolm to be happy. Letty realizes she's no good, and no good for Mickey. She leaves and returns to an old job at a bookstore.

Review - Born to Be Bad

Young was beautiful, but the movie was too pat. Grant's character came across as a sap, willing to believe anything any woman told him. The willingness of Alyce to give up her husband to a woman who was a known tramp was also hard to stomach.
