Description:Dan Bartlett (Bob Hope) is stressed out after his wife Sheila (Eva Marie Saint) becomes co-host of his TV talk show. Dan heads to their cabin in the desert to get away for a while. When he gets to the cabin, he finds a dead Indian girl on the floor. He jumps in the car to tell the sheriff, but when the body is found in his back seat, he's arrested. He's released for lack of evidence. Back at the cabin, he finds another girl, alive this time. It's Crazy (Anne Archer) step-daughter of rancher John Ed (Ralph Bellamy), who sleeps in the Bartlett cabin whenever she fights with John Ed. Sheila finds out about the arrest and comes to help Dan find the real murderer. She and Dan, with Crazy's help, start asking questions, and soon another body shows up. Dan is arrested again, but Sheila helps him escape. They go to John Ed for help, not knowing that he and his assistant, Reese (Forrest Tucker), are the killers. Soon there's a third body. Reese decides to kill Dan, Sheila, and Crazy. He traps the Bartlett's in a cave and throws Crazy in the river. They all escape. Reese is killed by John Ed to keep him from talking, but Dan finds a map that the Indian girl hid in his house that shows John Ed's ranch is on Indian land. Through the adventure, Dan and Sheila stop fighting and fall back in love. Sheila gets pregnant and quits the TV show.

Review - Cancel My Reservation

Bing Crosby, Johnny Carson, John Wayne, and Flip Wilson make cameo appearances during a scene in which Dan imagines he's being hung.

It wasn't a classic movie, more an excuse for Hope to do a stream of typical Hope laugh lines. I expected it to be awful because of lousy reviews, but because of my low expectations, I didn't hate it.
