Description:When their father is killed for publishing articles against an authoritarian regime, sisters Maria (Valentina Cortese) and Nora (Audrey Hepburn) are sent to live with Anselmo, a family friend in London. Maria pines for Louis, her lover, who worked with their father to peacefully resist. Seven years later, the girls are grown. Maria works in Anselmo's cafe. Nora is a dancer who is beginning to be noticed. Louis shows up, but he's no longer peaceful. He's part of a terrorist organization. Maria doesn't realize this until it's too late — Louis strong-arms her into transporting a bomb to kill the dictator who killed her father. But things go wrong and an innocent girl is killed. Maria goes to Scotland Yard and confesses everything. For her information, and because they believe she was an unwilling participant, they let her go. Louis shows up at the cafe and attempt to take Maria away. The police converge, and Louis' men toss another bomb. Maria is thought to be killed, but is really in police protection. They change her appearance, but when she realize Louis is now working his tricks on Nora, she reveals herself. She saves Nora, and Louis and his organization are caught, but not before one of them stabs Maria to death.

Review - Secret People

A movie about terrorism, which makes it not at all entertaining to me. It was Hepburn's first major role, but her on-screen time was mostly ballet dancing, which bores me to tears.
