Review - Armored Car Robbery
Well acted and believable police procedural to prove that crime doesn't pay. Felt like an extended episode of Dragnet.

| Description: | Dave Purvis (William Talman) plans a robbery with his friend Benny. They bring in two more guys — Foster and Mapes. Two cops are closer to the spot of the heist than the crooks expected and, in a gunbattle, a cop is killed and Benny is injured. The thieves get away, but the cops are soon on their tail, led by Lt. Jim Cordell (Charles McGraw), the partner of the cop who was killed. When the cops get close, Purvis plans on dumping Benny. When he tries to stop them, Purvis kills him. Purvis then makes plans to get away Benny's wife, dancer Yvonne (Adele Jergens), with whom he's been having an affair. The cops get close again, Foster is killed, and the cops find Benny's body. They find out about Yvonne and begin tailing her. Mapes contacts her, looking for Purvis to get his share of the loot. Cordell grabs him and get a lead to Purvis. Then Cordell's new partner, Ryan, contacts Yvonne, pretending to be Mapes. Purvis meets them and shoots Ryan. Cordell follows them to the airport and shoots Purvis before he can get away. |
