Description:Matt Ryan (Frank Albertson) wants to be a movie star, but the best he can do is a job as a stooge (assistant) to Dennis Poole, an actor whose career is on the wane. Ann (Eleanor Lynn) is in love with Matt and wants him to get out of movies and into some business, but Matt treats her casually because he has his eyes on Eileen, a big star. At a party, a big-shot producer is killed. A sleazy reporter points the finger at Matt. He's about to be arrested when Ann creates a distraction, and they run off together. The cops expect Matt to go to Poole's house, so they go there to wait. He does show up, thinking he has evidence against actor John Nelson, a rival of Poole's. His accusation against Nelson proves false, but the cops then turn to Poole, who admits his guilt. Matt and Ann get together and buy a hamburger stand.

Review - Fugitives for a Night

I think this was supposed to reveal the nasty politics behind the scenes in Hollywood, but mostly it just didn't make a lot of sense or give me any reason to care. The only character I liked was Ann, and she was a fool for caring so much for Matt.
