Not at all memorable — pretty much just a movie about feelings. But the characters were well portrayed.

| Description: | Italian sailor Ernesto (John Kerr) kills a man who was beating a woman. He and his brother Giancarlo (Mel Ferrer) flee across the border into France and get a job picking grapes for Louis Morel). Morel's beautiful wife Leone immediately catches Ernesto's eye. Her younger sister Lucienne (Pier Angeli) falls for Giancarlo. At the end of the grape harvest, the police track Ernesto to the Morel farm. Leone tries to protect him, and even Louis (who knows Ernesto loves his wife but also knows she's been faithful) also tries to help. But the police see Ernesto and kill him. Giancarlo stays and marries Lucienne. |
