Description:Kit Gerard (Sterling Hayden) is a French privateer who has vowed to kill the Spanish Captain del Toro (John Sutton) for killing Gerard's mother. Lady Jane (Rhonda Fleming) is an English plantation owner who moonlights as the pirate Captain Rouge. Gerard falls in love with her, but she wants nothing to do with him and even gives testimony at his trial that gets him sentenced to hang. Bianca (Helena Carter) is the fiancee of del Toro who falls in love with Gerard, then betrays him when she realizes he loves Jane, then helps Jane break him out of prison. Review - Golden Hawk, The

What a mess. Hayden left me totally unconvinced that he could either be a successful pirate or a ladies man. The plot was hopelessly convoluted and boring. The special effects weren't at all special. The historical accuracy was nonexistent.
