| Description: | Mark Elliott (William Holden), a reporter in Hong Kong, falls in love with Han Suyin (Jennifer Jones), a half-Chinese/half-European doctor. They face hurdles—racial prejudice and the fact that Mark is married, although long -separated. He tries to get a divorce, but his wife refuses. Suyin loses her job because of the affair (even though the man who fires her is also having an affair with a half-Chinese woman). Mark is sent to Korea to cover the war and is killed. |
