Description:Gunfighter Tom Early (Stewart Granger) returns to his ranch after a long absence to find his wife dead and his teenage son, Tom Jr., resentful. He also finds a problem — arrogant cattleman Grimsell (James Gregory) intends to drive his huge herd into the valley and fatten them on land belonging to the local farmers. Early tries to fit in with the community, but he's resented, especially when widow Jo (Rhonda Fleming) agrees to move to his ranch as his housekeeper. The local pastor (Chill Wills) tries to stop Grimsell by legal means, but when that doesn't work, he leads the local farmers against Grimsell's thugs and gets ambushed. Early turns back Grimsell's herd by dynamiting the canyon walls. He returns to his ranch to find Grimsell and his main gun waiting, holding Jr. and Jo hostage. Early manages to kill the gun, chase Grimsell off, and (I guess) marry Jo.

Review - Gun Glory

Maybe I was just in the mood, but I liked it. Granger was convincing as the quiet gun who didn't need to brag. Fleming was amazing as the widow who fell for the gunfighter. I didn't think the plot got overly complicated, and there weren't tedious shots of guys riding horses, like there are in so many westerns.
