Description:The Canadian Pacific Railroad has to get through the Rocky Mountains. Tom Andrews (Randolph Scott) is hired as surveyor and trouble-shooter (the guy who handles disputes and bad behavior). He wants to quit to marry Cecille (Nancy Olson, who's 30 years younger), but the railroad comes first. Trader Rourke (Victor Jory) wants to stop the railroad so he won't lose his monopoly. He causes an explosion that gravely injures Tom. Doctor Edith (Jane Wyatt) nurses him back to health, and they fall in love. But she's a pacifist who insists that Tom eschew violence. He does, but of course things only get worse. The workers go on strike, and Rourke stirs up the Indians against the workers. Cecille risks her life to ride to Tom and warn him in time for him to set up a defense. But still Tom and the workers are about to be overrun when help arrives and drives off the Indians. Tom manages to kill Rourke, and Edith blames Tom. She rides off in a huff, and Tom decides he likes Cecille better after all.

Review - Canadian Pacific

I know nothing about the Canadian Pacific, but I don't need to to know this was fiction from start to finish. Edith's pacifism, even during the Indian attack was ridiculous. But worst of all was the way the movie looked. Shot using only red and green, the entire movie looked weird and distracting.
