Description:Joe Rolfe (John Payne) is an ex con gone straight. A group of bank robbers use a duplicate of his florist delivery van to put a heist, and Joe is blamed. He's let go, but determines to find out who framed him. He tracks down Harris (Jack Elam), one of the robbers, and finds out that the gang worked incognito—wearing masks—only the head guy knew who they were. Harris is killed by thugs, so Joe takes his place and goes to the rendezvous in Mexico where the heist money is to be divvied up. On the way, he meets Helen (Coleen Gray), and they become close. She's visiting her father, Tim (Preston Foster), a policeman who was booted out of his job. In Mexico, Joe meets Kane (Neville Brand) and Tony (Lee Van Cleef), the other two robbers. It all comes to a head on Tim's boat. Tony kills Kane for his share of the loot and is about to kill Joe when Tim arrives and kills Tony but is shot in the process. It turns out that Tim was the big guy who planned the whole robbery. Tim knew he couldn't spend the money because it was marked, but he planned on turning the three robbers in for the reward. But when he found out how Helen felt about Joe (and also knew that Joe was actually innocent of the robbery), he told the insurance police that Joe had helped him catch the bad guys. Joe reciprocates by not telling Helen that Tim was in on the heist.

Review - Kansas City Confidential

Pretty good heist film in which the heist took place at the beginning. I wasn't quite sure why Joe worked so hard to find out who had framed him once the police let him go, but if he hadn't, there wouldn't have been a movie.
