| Description: | In Paris after the war, former American soldier Paul (Dennis Morgan) is now a black marketeer. He happens upon Christine (Viveca Lindfors), a French woman whom someone is trying to kill. As Paul helps Christine, they fall in love. But she doesn't know what he does, and he doesn't know that she was a Nazi sympathizer who is married to a collaborationist. Inspector Beauvais shows up periodically to preach about their duty, and Firago, another collaborationist, shows up periodically to kill Christine to keep her from testifying against her husband. In the end, Paul decides to go straight, and Christine decides to testify. The movie ends at the trial and no more information is given. |
