Silly. Donna Reed's character had very little to do with the story and wasn't on screen much, although she got second billing.

| Description: | Private Hargrove (Robert Walker) is a reporter drafted into the artillery. He's in a battery with four others, including Mulvehill (Keenan Wynn), a con artist always looking for a buck. He sells Hargrove a date with Carol (Donna Reed), a local girl who knows nothing about the scheme. But Hargrove and Carol hit it off and get together. Hargrove constantly goofs up and gets KP, but to impress Carol, he becomes a good solider. Mulvehill finagles a deal that allows him and Hargrove to avoid deployment, but at the last minute they decide they want to be with their battery and transfer back. |
