Description:Socialite Linda Vickers (Virginia Mayo) is at a gambling club when it is robbed. She exaggerates how much she lost to Marty Fain (Bruce Bennett), club owner, but he's attracted to her and they begin dating. When the robber is found dead, police Lt. McReady questions her. She claims to be ignorant, even though she knows Fain's tough borrowed her car to commit the murder. Linda's brother "Doc" comes to town for a visit and is unhappy with Linda's relationship with Fain. She gets convicted and calls it off. The next night, Fain is shot when he goes to collect on a debt and kills a gambler. Doc is at the club visiting a singer and is asked to remove the bullet. He does, but when he attempts to call the police about a gun shot wound, Fain's tough kills him too. Linda begins working with McReady. They hatch a plan where Fain follows her to an apartment and she tries to get him to confess. He realizes the place is bugged and refused to talk until he finds the recorder. He destroys it, then goes ahead and confesses, no knowing there's another mic hidden in the room. On the way out, the police stop them, and Fain and his tough are killed. McReady and Linda go for a walk.

Review - Smart Girls Don't Talk

A tight, easy-to-follow piece that was enjoyable enough to watch but not very memorable.
