Review - Backfire
Overly complicated plot with some holes you could drive a truck through. It also never gave me a reason to care what happened to any of the characters.

| Description: | Bob Corey (Gordon MacRae) is injured in the war and spends a couple years in a V.A. hospital where he falls in love with nurse Julie (Virginia Mayo). Lysa (Viveca Lindfors) visits him one night to tell him his army buddy Steve (Edmond O'Brien) has been seriously injured. When Bob gets out of the hospital, the police pick him up and tell him Steve is wanted for the murder of a gambler. Bob and Julie investigate while bodies pile up. It turns out that another army buddy, Ben Arno (Dane Clark) is a crooked gambler who hired Steve and then got jealous because his girl (Lysa) and Steve had fallen in love. Ben plans on killing Bob and Steve, but Julie figures out where they are and gets the cops there on time. |
