Description:Roger is a fishing expert at a sporting goods store. He wrote a book on fishing that helped many fishermen get better. A lodge is putting on a tournament, and the owner's daughter Easy (Maria Perschy) and publicist Abigail (Paula Prentiss) convince Roger's boss to enter Roger in the competition. Problem is, Roger has never fished. He goes to the camp early to practice with Abigail, but ends up in one predicament after another. When the contest comes along, Roger manages to catch the top fish every day purely by dumb luck and accident. His fiancee visits and keeps catching Roger in innocent but compromising-looking situations with Abigail and Easy. To his surprise, he actually falls for Abigail, who also falls for him, but feels bad about how rough she's made his life and runs off. He feels guilty about how he won the contest and confesses, so his boss fires him. He's lost his job, his girl, and now even Abigail. But his boss reconsiders and offers him a raise, and he and Abigail end up together.

Review - Man's Favorite Sport?

Total slapstick nonsense, with very little plot and no chemistry between the leads. Paula Prentiss is her usual odd self, with weird mannerisms, odd speech patterns, and wandering eyes. She's one of the most bizarre actresses I've seen. Maria Perschy, as the friend, was much more appealing.
