Description:Excellent but egotistical surgeon Lee Johnson (Clark Gable) lives in luxury with his stylish wife Penny (Anne Baxter), caring little for anything but himself and his career. He's sent to the front in WWII where he's paired with nurse Snapshot (Lana Turner). They don't get along at first, but Snapshot's empathy and drive soon have an effect on Lee. They fall in love. Penny, waiting at home, realizes she's losing Lee. Snapshot is wounded and dies in the hospital. Lee comes home mourning and has to put his life together again, determined to be a better man. He tells Penny everything about Snapshot, and she responds by showing that she loves him. They determine to work things out together.

Review - Homecoming

Some good characters, and it painted a clear picture of what it would be like for a man off to war who is thrown into the company of a good woman. Anne Baxter's character was shallow at the beginning, but at the end, with her determination to stick with Lee, she showed a determination to be better too. But it was all a bit slow-moving and a little trite at times.
