| Description: | Elly Jordan (Dick Powell) is a singer/guitar player who gets a job on a Wyoming dude ranch. The only problem is his phobia of animals. He meets Jane (Priscilla Lane) Producer Roy Chadwick (Pat O'Brien) hears him sing and, thinking he's from Wyoming, signs him to a contract as a singing cowboy, takes him back to NYC, and gives him the stage name of Wyoming Steve Gibson. Jane and her family travel to NYC for a rodeo. A cowboy named Sam who likes Jane is jealous of Elly, so he exposes to reporters that Elly is really from Brooklyn. To prove he really is a cowboy, Elly has to ride a horse and tackle a steer in the rodeo, which he manages to do thanks to a hypnotist who helps him get over his phobia. He signs a huge contract, and he and Jane get together. Ann Sheridan and Ronald Reagan have tiny, inconsequential roles. |
