Interesting to see once, but not worth seeing twice. Reagan looked very young. It all feels more like an episode from a TV courtroom drama.

| Description: | Eric Gregg (Ronald Reagan) is a claims investigator for an insurance company. He's thorough, and always finds fraud if there is any. His wife, Nona, is a selfish shrew who wants expensive things. When Eric's salary won't get her the things she wants, she goes to a loan company and borrows money. The loan company is part of a ring that perpetrates insurance fraud, and they realize they can use Nona to get rid of Eric. They fake an accident, and Eric claims it's fraudulent, based on Nona's testimony. But the crooks bring forth other witnesses to claim otherwise, and Eric is accused of fraud himself and fired. Nona divorces him and goes to work for the crooks. Eric can't find another job in the industry, but Patricia (Gloria Blondell), who works the newspaper stand in Eric's building and has a crush on him, encourages him to fight back. He and she contact the district attorney, and begin working frauds to get the attention of the crooks. They soon do, and the crooks work with Eric and Patricia to perpetrate an accident fraud. But when it gets to court, Eric turns on the crooks and gets them arrested. Nona is also arrested for her part in the scheme and goes to jail. Eric ends up with Patricia. |
