Not really worthy of a 7, but it was a classical early '30's madcap drama that had some fun characters and went by in a flash.

| Description: | Anne (Kay Francis) married early to the sleazy Maurice. After he divorced her, she married the wealthy Schuyler. Maurice contacts her to reveal the he never got the divorce, and he blackmails her, threatening to tell Schuyler. She schemes to go to Cuba, knowing Maurice will follow her — and knowing a friend can see to it that he can't get back into the U.S. Meanwhile, the jealous Schuyler hired Neil (George Brent) to follow Anne and attempt to seduce her. He falls in love with her for real and tells her that Schuyler hired him. Maurice and Schuyler show up at the same time. Neil convinces Maurice to duck out on the patio and make his way to the next balcony of the hotel. When Schuyler arrives, Anne dumps him for not trusting her. Maurice conveniently falls to his death, so Anne and Neil end up together. There's a sub-plot about Neil's fellow-detective, pretending to be Neil's valet. He meets Dot, a con woman and gets taken for hundreds of dollars. |
