| Description: | Ed Hatch (Humphrey Bogart) brings wrestler Joe to a small town in the Ozarks to drum up a match. The only person he can find to wrestle Joe is the woman blacksmith, Sadie. Ed gets her to agree to the match by promising her money for a new bedroom set. But before the match, Joe meets Sadie and falls in love. He refuses to wrestler her. Then Ed meets Noah, a giant hillbilly who wants Sadie for his own. Ed comes up with the idea to match Joe and Noah, with the winner to marry Sadie. When Joe wins, he stays in the Ozarks, marries Sadie and becomes the blacksmith. Ed takes on Noah as his new wrestler. Ronald Reagan has a small part as a reporter covering the match. Panny Singleton, who later played Blondie in a bunch of movies, plays Bogart's girlfriend and does some dance numbers. |
