Review - Next Time We Love
Pretty much just a downer. The two main characters loved each other but loved their jobs more, so could hardly root for either of them.

| Description: | College Student Cicely (Margaret Sullavan) and journalist Chris (Jimmy Stewart) impulsively get married. Chris soon gets a promotion to foreign correspondent in Italy. Cicely stays home because she's pregnant. She doesn't tell Chris because she doesn't want him to worry. Meanwhile, she gets work as an actress. She spends more time with Chris's friend Tommy (Ray Milland) than she ever did with Chris, and Tommy soon falls in love. Chris finds out that Cicely had a baby and rushes home, getting fired for abandoning his post. Cicely goes to the editor and begs for Chris to be given work, and he's soon sent to Russia. The couple only see each other for a week or two a year. Cicely becomes a big star. They still love each other, but grow very far apart. Then Chris asks Cicely if she wants a divorce around the same time Tommy asks her to divorce Chris and marry him. Cicely heads to Switzerland to see Chris before she decides and finds out that he's dying. |
