| Description: | Two oilmen, Steve (James Stewart) and Johnny (Dan Duryea) convince an oil company to drill from on offshore platform off Louisiana. The people of Port Felicity are unhappy, believing that the well will destroy their shrimp fishery. Things get even more complicated when two sisters from the town, Stella (Joanne Dru) and Francesca (Marcia Henderson) fall for Steve and Johnny. When Johnny and Francesca get married, their father talks the other shrimpers into attacking the platform. Stella gets the one reasonable man in town to go out and warn Steve. As the angry shrimpers arrive, the well hits oil and somehow, this makes everybody friends—especially when they learn that shrimp like to hang out by the well. Steve chases after Stella, and they get together. |
