Description:Louise (Luise Rainer) is a student at a Parisian acting school. She dreams of being a great actress, but her schooling is affected by her poverty — she has to work nights in a factory. One evening, Andre (Alan Marshal) visits the factory with an actress researching a role. Louise spins a fantasy about him and tells the other students in the school. One of them, Nana (Paulette Goddard) decides to prank Louise and invites her to a party, then arranges for Andre to show up. He gets wind of what's going on and that, combined with the impression she makes on him, pretends like they're really a couple. They become a couple for real, but he tires of her when she insists that she continue her studies to be a great actress. One of the teachers at the school recommends Louise for a leading role in a play and she's a huge success. Andre wants back in the picture, but she turns him down and decides to dedicate herself to her career.

Review - Dramatic School

Not really my kind of movie, and I don't at all consider acting as a great or important career. But Louise Rainer was good in her role and made the movie watchable. Lana Turner played one of the students.
