| Description: | Conniving gold digger Claire (Leslie Brooks) marries the wealthy Carl Hanneman even though she intends to continue her affair with Les Burns (Robert Paige). When Carl finds out about Les, he tells Claire he wants a divorce and flies home from their honeymoon. Claire hires Blackie, a shady pilot, to fly her home and back in the same night to provide an alibi while she kills Carl. When Carl's body is found, Les becomes the chief suspect because everyone knows he loves Claire. But the police can't find evidence, and the case dies. Then Blackie shows up and blackmails Claire, so she kills him too. Meanwhile, she courts Stanley Mason, attorney running for Congress. When he wins, Claire agrees to marry him. Les gets angry. When Claire goes to him to tell him their affair will continue, Stanley overhears. He dumps her, so she stabs him to death, then arranges it so Les will find the knife and pick it up, getting his fingerprints on it. But several of Les' friends believe he's innocent and confront Claire. She goes a little crazy, types up a confession, then tries to shoot the men confronting her. They wrestle for the gun, and she is shot and killed. |
