Description:Secret Service agent Brass Bancroft (Ronald Reagan) is sent to Mexico to track down a gang that has stolen plates from the U.S. Mint. He contacts Crockett, another agent, and goes with him to a casino that the gang uses as a front. The gang turns out the lights, stabs Crockett, and blame Brass, who then has to run from the police. He hitches a ride with Parker, who is disguised as a friar but is really the head of the gang. Parker realizes who Brass is and shoots him, but Brass is saved by a pocket dictionary. He flees to a nearby town where he is once again pursued by the police. In a market, he's handcuffed to Elaine (Rosella Towne) by a seller who's upset that they knocked over his booth. They head back to the mission to get the plates and are captured again, but manage to escape just as Parker blows up the mission and takes off. Brass, with the police (who now know who he is), give chase. Parker drives off a cliff and dies, and Brass recovers the plates. Eddie Foy Jr. is along again as Gabby, Brass' partner and comic relief.

Review - Code of the Secret Service

Brass was told to not to tell the Mexican police who he is. As a result, he spends about two-thirds of the movie running from the Mexican police or arguing with them to let him go. This made no sense, but the movie would have been 12 minutes long without it. Also weird that they introduced a cute girl, but she wasn't around at the end to kiss Brass.
