Review - Enter Madame
Way, way, way too much opera, too much screaming, and no characters to root for.

| Description: | American Gerald Fitzgerald (Cary Grant) goes every night to see opera singer Lisa Della Robbia (Elissa Landi). One night, a prop sets her dress on fire. Gerald jumps from his box and puts the fire out, then is knocked unconscious when the curtain falls. Lisa takes him to her villa, and the impetuously get married. Gerald travels with her as she performs, but soon gets tired of the chaos, especially since he's usually shunted off to the side to take care of Lisa's dogs. When their plans to travel to America fall apart because they compete with Lisa's performance schedule, Gerald goes alone. On the boat he runs into Flora (Sharon Lynn), a gold-digging sometimes friend of Gerald's. When Lisa keeps sending excuses not to come, Gerald files for divorce and plans to marry Flora. When Lisa hears, she goes to America. Chaos ensues as everyone runs around being loud, but in the end, Gerald and Lisa stay together. |
