Description:Two contract killers, Charlie (Lee Marvin) and Lee, hunt down racecar driver Johnny (John Cassavetes) and kill him. Charlie gets to wondering why Johnny made no attempt to get away, so he begins searching for the answer. He first goes to Earl (Claude Akins), Johnny's old partner, where he finds out about Sheila (Angie Dickinson), a thrill-seeking girl who showed up one day and got mixed up with Johnny — until he got in the accident that ruined his career. It turns out that Sheila looked up Johnny several years later and offered him a job driving on truck hi-jacking run by Jack Browning (Ronald Reagan), Sheila's on-again, off-again lover. They steal $1 million, but Johnny double-crosses them and takes off. He meets with Sheila, thinking that she'll run off with him, but she takes him to Jack, who shoots him and takes the money. Because Johnny manages to get away, Jack hires Charlie and Lee to kill him. Johnny was mourning over Sheila's treachery, which is why he didn't run. Charlie and Lee don't know of Jack of Sheila has the money, so they grab Sheila and take her to Jack's place, but Jack is waiting. He kills Lee and wounds Charlie. Jack and Sheila go for the money, but Charlie follows and kills them both, then dies of his wounds.

Review - Killers, The

A movie about a group of slime bags who killed to get what they wanted. There was nobody to root for here, and I was rather glad that they all died. Seeing Reagan as a bad guy who slapped around women was unexpected. This was his last movie, and he never wanted to talk about it after he went into politics.
