| Description: | Andy (Ronald Reagan in his first film role) is a radio newsman. He gets a tip from a businessman that gangster Nicey Ferguson controls most of the politicians in town. Andy reports this on the air, and Nicey exerts his influence to get Andy demoted to a kid's program. Unhappy with the current format, Andy remakes the kids' show to cover kid activities around town. That's how he meets Mouse, an enterprising kid who tells Andy that his brother disappeared after doing "cement work" for Nicey. Andy investigates and discovers that Nicey's gang buried the dead businessman under the floor of a garaage. By spreading word that Mouse has given away the secret, Nicey and his men go to the garage and dig up the body. Andy has informed the cops, who are waiting, and Andy broadcasts the shoot-out and arrest live. He gets his job back and also ends up with Jo (June Travis), who also works at the radio. |
