Won't stand up to much logical thinking, but it was amusing enough and quite colorful.

| Description: | Gambler Tennessee (John Payne) gets some locals mad at him for winning at poker. One of them is about to kill Tennessee when a stranger saves his life. The stranger is Cowpoke (Ronald Reagan), in town to meet his fiancée, Goldie (Coleen Gray). But Tennessee knows Goldie and knows she's no good. He convinces her to run away from him, then sends her off on her own — all to save Cowpoke. Cowpoke doesn't understand, of course, and goes gunning for Tennessee. But after a fistfight, the friends make up. A miner named Grubstake finds gold. It turns out that Tennessee is his partner. When Grubstake is killed in Tennessee's house for his map, everyone assumes that Tennessee killed him, but it was one of the locals. Tennessee and Cowpoke are thrown in jail but escape and follow the guy. He's just about to get the drop of Tennessee when Cowpoke steps in front of him and gets killed. Tennessee grabs the guy, who turns him over the the sheriff. Tennessee then marries Duchess (Rhonda Fleming) the owner of the local high-class bordello (who's been around all movie for her looks but doesn' t have much to do with the plot). |
