Description:Mongol chief Temujin (John Wayne) is determined to defeat the Tartars and make Tartar princess Bortail (Susan Hayward) his woman. There are a lot of men in silly hats riding horses, a lot of dancing girls, some unconvincing swordplay, and I was never entirely sure who was who. But John Wayne won, got the girl, and became Genghis Khan.

Reviews for The Conqueror

Review - Conqueror, The

All ... the ... actors ... spoke ... in .... an ... odd. ... sorta-Shakespearean .. speech ... in ... a ... weird ... stilted ... manner. Susan Hayward didn't look at all like a Mongol princess. It was an odd movie, make tragic by the fact that it was filmed in a part of Utah that had recently been used for A-bomb tests and most of the chief actors and the director all died of cancer.
