| Description: | Joe Holt (Joe E. Brown) invents an unsinkable swimsuit while working at a rubber company. He's told he's inherited an estate in California, but when he gets there, he finds out there's only $5 left. Alice (Ginger Rogers) mistakes Joe for a famous swimmer of the same name and takes him to Catalina Island to train for a big swimming race. Joe can't swim and looks for a way out of the race, but when a salesman from his old company brings one of his unsinkable suits, he figures he's got it made. Alice makes it known she'll go for a guy who wins the race. Joe takes off, thinking he's got the suit on, not knowing Alice exchanged it for another one. With all sorts of gags and gimmicks, he manages to win the race and Alice anyway. Allen "Farina" Hoskins played Joe's adopted son. |
