Description:On a naval base, an inventor hands over some thermostats that are going to be used on ships. He's murdered, and Naval Intelligence arrives to investigate. Among the suspects are a performing magician and his wife and a sailor who has snuck his new bride onto the base. There are several more attempted murders before the sailor's wife (rather than any of the soldiers or detectives) figures out the culprit is a naval officer. She confronts the officer and is almost killed before the magician stops him by throwing a bayonet into him.

Review - Murder on the Waterfront

This wasn't a B movie. I'm not even sure it qualifies as a C movie. I didn't recognize a single actor. The plot was moronic. Somebody is shooting at people all over the base, but the group investigating the crime just wander about looking for clues with no concern about being shot. And the chief detective sends a civilian woman to confront the murderer, putting her life at risk. Only 51 minutes long, it still managed to be terribly dull.
