| Description: | Wealthy young socialite Judith (Bette Davis) is operated on for brain cancer by Dr. Steele (George Brent). The operation reveals that she only has 10 months to live. Steele and Judith's friend Ann (Geraldine Fitzgerald) try to hide the news from her, but she finds out. She's bitter at first, but then decides to live while she can. She and Steele get married and move to his house in Vermont. They pretend like all is well. When the end comes, Judith doesn't tell Steele, but sends him off to a doctors' conference. She goes upstairs and dies alone. Humphrey Bogart had a small role as Judith's horse trainer who is in love with her. Ronald Reagan also has a small role as one of Judith's carousing friends. |
