| Description: | Shipyard welder "Swanee" Swanson (Dick Powell) wins a date with Broadway star Julie Hampton (Lucille Ball). They hit it off and she agrees to promote the show he wrote about the common people. But he doesn't like the glitzy Broadway treatment and backs out. To find out what he wants, Julie gets a job at the shipyard and then gets stuck there when the government freezes the workforce. Swanee accuses her of being more interested in publicity than the job, but he changes his mind when Julie puts on his show, his way, at the launching of ship #300. |
