Description:Sgt. Cody Cullen receives a Christmas card while serving in Afghanistan. It's from Faith (Alice Evans), who sends several out each year to troops as a ministry of her church. On leave, Cody travels to Faith's town and visits the church. He happens to save her father Luke (Ed Asner) from being hit by a car and is invited to stay for dinner. He ends up staying for two weeks and goes to work at Luke's lumbermill. Cody falls for Faith, but she's going with Paul, a wine broker. Luke wants Faith to get together with Cody and does what he can to push them together, but when Paul sees what's happening, he proposes. Cody takes off, but leaves a note telling Faith that it was her card that helped him through tough times and brought him to town. She dumps Paul and sets off after him and finds him.

Review - Christmas Card, The

This one was pretty good. Evans was great as Faith, and even Ed Asner was likeable in this role (unlike almost every other role I've seen him in). Newton was OK as Cody, but could have been a little less dull. Paul was projected as a jerk from the get-go, so the ending was never in doubt.
