Fort Scott Blockhouse

This small fortress sat in a small grassy area next to the National Park parking lot. It is one of three blockhouses that were built during the Civil War to protect the town. The sign says it’s been moved and restored many times. I’m guessing that there’s very little of the original blockhouse left. In fact, nobody even knows which of the three blockhouses it is. It never saw action, although the residents gave the structures credit for keeping the Confederates away.
