Nachusa Grasslands — Lee County, Illinois

I took a day off work to bird and sight-see along the Rock River. My second stop was Nachusa Grasslands, where I saw this Meadow Fritillary. It was flying at grass level around the knoll by the parking lot in the prairie. I took a photo of it when it landed in the mowed path.
