I reserved one of the Frontier Cabins months in advance, and based on the difficulty I had getting a confirmation of my reservation, I wasn’t at all sure what I was getting into. It turned out to be the best room we stayed in during the entire vacation.
Our cabin was small, but it was clean and comfortable with all the amenities expected from a quality motel.
The day had been a hot one. The guy who ran the place told me it had gotten up to 100. It was still hot in the evening, but not too hot for us to hang out on the front porch for a while and watch the sunset over I-90. It got off to a late start due to cloud cover, but it made up for it.
Our “free” continental breakfast in the morning wasn’t awful, and it had the added distinction of being served in a fireworks store which also served as a gift shop and the motel office. Our table was actually a gift shop display case.
The brightly-colored packages in the background of the right-hand photo are fireworks. The store had two or three aisles packed with them. I told the lady at the desk that an indoor fireworks show for breakfast would have been a nice touch.
