Barrington, Illinois — Baker’s Lake
I was birding this day, but not seeing a lot of birds. I decided to walk around Baker’s Lake. This was a little difficult as there was no trail. I waded through marshes, cut across farm fields, scrambled over a railroad track, and hiked through a residential area.
When I was cutting through the fields by the round barn, I saw a Red Fox run out of a small, brushy wood lot. It trotted steadily across a cut corn field until it crossed a rise and disappeared.
