I was standing on the observation deck overlooking the old river channel. I had been watching and listening to a Fish Crow when I noticed the Snowy Egret. It was wading up to its leg joints in a brush-edged area of the pond. It made its way to a mud flat near shore, stood for a short time, then walked slowly along the edge of the slough. It then took off, flying gracefully past where I stood and disappeared behind some brush.
