Review - Mystery of Edwin Drood, The

I read this book inside another book — The D. Case/The Mystery of Edwin Drood by Carlo Fruttero and Franco Lucentini. A group of fictional characters (Father Brown, Sherlock Holmes, Hercules Periot, Lew Archer, etc.) are brought together in Rome to solve the mystery of Edwin Drood. Chapters with these characters alternate with chapters from Dickens' book (which is included in its entirety). They solve Edwin's murder and, while they're at it, discover what killed Dickens.
