Reviews for The Violent Land
Review - Violent Land, The
Things happened a bit too fast, and some of the people and events were stereotypes of the west, but for the most part I enjoyed it.

| Notes: | Dan Nathan was 18 when he came to Oregon with his poverty-stricken family. He had nothing but contempt for his father who had failed at everything he tried, so he took off to work for local cattle baron Jim Perrin. The local settlers hated Perrin because they were farming land that the court would probably soon say was Perrin's. Things get complicated when Perrin brings home a young wife, Rocky, and Dan soon falls for her. But the marriage doesn't work out and Rocky soon leaves. Things come to a head when the courts decide in Perrin's favor. The settlers decide to kill Perrin and appoint a man to do it. When Perrin is found dead, Dan is blamed but he hunts down the killer and takes him to the sheriff. While all this is going on, Dan's father rises from a failure to a popular preacher and politician and Dan falls for and marries Cissy, the daughter of a fallen woman. |
