Notes:Undershaft is an arms manufacturer. His daughter Barbara is a major in the Salvation Army. He visits her and convinces her superior to accept a large donation. Barbara quits the Army because of the hypocrisy. The next day, the family visits the arms factory. Barbara's fiance accepts Undershaft's offer to take over the business, based on Undershaft's arguement that capitalism is better for society than religion. Review - Major Barbara

Shaw's screed against religion that sounds logical on a surface level, but was pretty clearly disproven by the two world wars that occurred shortlyl after the play was written.
