Review - Off for the Sweet Hereafter
The story was mildly-intriguing, but Pearson's style, with endless run-on sentences filled with repetitions gets tiring quickly.

| Notes: | Raeford Benton Lynch, funny-looking and untalented, gets a job moving graves with Mr. Overhill. One day he meets Jane Elizabeth Firesheets and discovers passion. The two hook up while Raeford is in the neighborhood, but when he returns home, he discovers that Jane is shacking up with another guy. He visits her and tries to convince her of their love for each other but she says he's never amounted to anything. Raeford acquires a gun and begins holding up grocery stores. Soon he gets his photo in the paper. Jane decides he's something after all and the two set up house and commit crimes in the surrounding area. Raeford kills a storekeeper and the law catches up with them. He tries to run and is killed. Jane pretends to be an innocent hostage and gets away with everything. |
